Understanding Our Measurements

First things first, you'll have a much easier time selecting the right kit size if you understand our terminology and measurements.

We use three different measurements to ensure our kits will fit you perfectly.

The garment chest size is the full measurement around the garment at chest level when worn.

Your Chest Size

Your chest size is own body measurement around the fullest part of your chest measured under your arm pits.

How To Measure for a Perfect Fit

To ensure a perfect fit, you can either measure one of your existing football shirts, rugby jerseys, or sports tops that fits you comfortably, or measure your chest instead.

Measure Garment Chest Width

Place your sports jersey flat on a table or on the floor and measure across the front of the garment from just underneath one armpit to the other. Make sure the garment is laid flat with no wrinkles or folds.

Measure Your Chest Size

Wrap a soft tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, just under your arms. Keep the tape level, snug but not tight, and breathe normally before taking your measurement where the tape meets.

Two sports shirts being measured to ensure a perfect fit. The first is laid flat on the floor, with the tape measuring from armpit to armpit, the second is wrapped around the entire chest of the person wearing the shirt.

Finding Your Ideal Fit

Some people like their sportswear to fit close to the body, while others prefer a little more room. Use the guide below to help choose the fit that's right for you.

I Prefer A Regular Fit

Choose the size recommended in our charts for your chest measurement.

I Prefer A Tighter Fit

Choose a size around 2 inches (5cm) larger than your chest measurement.

I Prefer A Relaxed Fit

Choose a size around 4 inches (10cm) larger than your chest measurement.

Ladies' Sportswear Sizing Explained

Two sportswomen model OLIK Sports kits. The shirts have a white body and blue sponsors logo and light blue sleeves with patterns on. The shirt has a black 70s-style collar.

Our ladies' shirts are shaped to provide a more tailored fit through the waist while remaining comfortable across the chest.

Every player is different, so if your team needs a different fit, shorter sleeves or any other adjustments, don't worry. Before production begins, you'll speak with your dedicated account manager, who'll make sure every detail is exactly how you want it.

You don't have to figure everything out on your own. We're here to help.

FAQs About Custom Sportswear Sizes

Here are answers to some of the questions we're asked most often about sizing, fit and custom garment options.

How do I choose the right size for my custom sportswear?

We recommend measuring a garment that already fits you well and comparing those measurements with the size charts above. Using garment measurements rather than guessing by your usual clothing size will help you achieve the best fit.

What's the difference between Garment Chest Size and Your Chest Size?

Your Chest Size is your body measurement. Garment Chest Size is the measurement of the finished garment itself. Sportswear is designed with extra room for comfort and movement, so the garment measurement will always be larger than your body measurement.

What if I'm between sizes?

If your measurements fall between two sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size if you prefer a more relaxed fit or expect to wear base layers underneath. If you prefer a closer, more athletic fit, the smaller size may be the better option. If you're unsure, get in touch and we'll be happy to recommend the most suitable size for your team.

Should I size up if I prefer a looser fit?

Yes. If you like a more relaxed fit, choosing the next size up will provide extra room. If you prefer a more athletic fit, choose the size that most closely matches your measurements.

Can I choose a custom sleeve length?

Yes. We can often customise sleeve lengths depending on the garment and order requirements. This includes shorter sleeves and capped sleeves, which are particularly popular for women's teamwear and netball kits. Speak to us about your requirements and we'll advise what's possible.

Can I choose a custom short leg length?

Yes. We can often adjust short leg lengths to suit your team and sport. Shorter rugby-style shorts and longer training shorts are both available for many garments. Let us know your preference when requesting a quote.

Should I use age or measurements for youth sizes?

Age should only be used as a guide. Children of the same age can vary significantly in height and build, so we always recommend checking the garment measurements before placing your order.
